This movie is akward... but ok. It gets boring at parts. There is a WHOLE lot of singing in it. My mom and lil sis's love it, and the first time i watched it i thought it was ok. now i still think it is ok, but in a way i just cant take it. i mans bare butt is shown, and there are some other kinda inapropriate seens. but i have to say this movie is funny! there are also two guys that are gay.

I rate this title iffy for age 13 and give it- My concerns are:
- Inappropriate sexual content
- Negative role models
This movie would have been absolutely fantastic without the permeating thread of sexuality that runs all the way through it. In fact, it's difficult to extract any strong message from the movie except: "Have fun and sex, don't let people tell you what to do". What a loss of an opportunity to insert very positive messages! The performance of Meryl Streep is absolutely mind-boggling, she portrays her character more than perfectly.

Hear the soundtrack or even better the movie!
I love all the songs because they are so upbeat and fun. But my little sister has watched it and she is five years old, and she loves all the songs but she hides her eyes when people kiss. [which is quite often] But we love the girl sofie's emotions. I love all the songs so much I am going to sing one for a musical I am doing.

Enjoyed it myself but wouldn't recommend it to kids under 18.
I actually really liked the movie. I found myself humming the tunes for at least a week afterward. It made me want to go to Greece and spend a few weeks being lazy in the sun. I'm not a huge fan of musicals but sometimes enjoy them. This was a very entertaining one. BUT........As a parent, I feel the role model is terrible. One summer the lead actress has a fling with three guys and gets pregnant. I don't like it when single mothers that make poor choices are glamorized. I applaud their effort is raising kids but think that most of the time they made a choice. It isn't like they slipped on a wet rock and got knocked up. And this movie sort of does put the fact that she was a single parent up on a pedestal. So basically, I don't want my son or daughter watching it but I would gladly see it again myself and I'm sure I will.

perfect for teens and tweens alike
i had no real problems with this movie except that the mother had sex with three men she wasn't married to and i think it kind of disturbing that the daughter doesn't know which one is her father. Overall I thought it a very cute and nice movie. (i loved the songs and dancing)

"Super Trouper" movie
I live the movie.its great!!!!!!There is no kissing between Harry and his gay buddy but at the end their both shirtless and hug.Theres really only a couple of songs that actully have sexual references like "Lay all your love on me"but any other songs are clean or have visual sexual refs.like i think "Gimmie!Gimmie!Gimmie!" and i think that was the song where the girls "capture" Harry and Bill and use them sorta as sex toys but nothing really is shown except girl kinda hanging all over them. Also about the butt part; its not like hes skhakin it in a innaporpiate way hes jut walkinand theres not back to his towel.too bad.You see it for 5 secs i mean jeez people everyone has seen a butt! And if they havent seen someone elses then they've seen their own!Theres like not langage in there except for one s*l*t but just cuz you dont feel like explaining the word to your kid doesnt mean you shouldnt let them watch it.It might evn go ober thei heads. Its not gonna mark them for the rest of ther lives if they hear it once when their young.

not for younger kids in my opinion..
I have to say I didn't love this movie. My best friend recommended it because her 3 year old LOVES this movie. I'm glad I had sense enough to watch it soon myself because I don't feel I'm ready to explain to my 5 year old what a sl*t is (Meryl calls herself that). She also says something about not letting some ejaculate control the decisions she makes with her daughter. I have serious reservations about showing this movie to my 5 year old now that I've seen it.

Not approriate for any age
Some friends said that this movie would be a great family movie. NO NO No... I can't believe the vulgarity of this movie. I love Abba but I mean common, making most of their songs Sexy and vulgar dance to them. When the song Gimme gimme gimme came on the brides friends started taking her so called fathers' and poll dancing with them and it was just inappripriate. DON'T WATCH this movie if you want to ruin Abba's songs!!!

I rate this title off for age 13 and give it- My concerns are:
Not a great message for kids of any age
I know it's increasingly becoming reality, but the movie portrays a highly dysfunctional family as light and largely problem free. It's as if the daughter could follow in her mother's sexual footsteps and expect a carefree life... That said, ABBA's tunes are as catchy as ever.

One time Musical
I actually didn't know it was a musical until they busted out singing. I don't think it would have been very good without the music; It added a lot of life to the movie. There are sexual references and that one part where we saw the guys a** so it wouldn't be appropriate for smaller kids. They probably wouldn't be very entertained either. One of the older women is a serious cougar too. I thought it was alright, enjoyable. Definitely a one time movie for me though.
