Super fun naughty family movie
This is a really fun and playful and naughty movie. It is unfairly compared to Mary Poppins. The only similarity is that a nanny comes to help restore peace and balance in a household of unruly kids. The kids in Nanny McPhee are very naughty. They torture their nannies and are very spoiled as well. They are clever and work together to get rid of nannies so that their father will spend more time with them. They are afraid he will marry again and that their step-mother will be evil; just like all of the fairy tale step-mothers. There are some ridiculous monty-phython style characters, including an overly horrible aunt. The sounds effects create a scary feeling at times, but the movie is fun and my 6 and 9 year olds (who are both sensitive to violence and meanness) laughed out loud. I enjoyed the movie as much as my kids.

Fun Movie with Good Ending and Message!
I love this movie. It has a really good ending and the message is awesome. The only concern is a few occasional curses, but only few throughout the whole movie. Really cool!

Nanny McPhee is a good rolemodel.
Not only is this movie funny, but it's also very good because they learn their important lessons. Great for any age, even adults.

Cute story with a positive message
I found this to be a very entertaining film with a good message. I wasn't sure about it when I first was preparing to watch it, but I really enjoyed the story and the action. A bit silly at times, but overall quite appealing. Kind of an updated Mary Poppins story.

Role Models
When the little boy asks for some "secret toast and secret jam" the maid will not give it to him because she knows he got sent to bed without dinner

awesome - just 1 scene that's scary
Great movie for EVERYONE above the age of 6. The only reason I put too violent or scary is because near the beginning there are shots of lots of dead bodies, and when I first watched it I found it very disturbing. Your kids might be too frightened with that. Other than that certain scene, everything is great! Nanny McPhee is a great role model and the kids learn lessons about respect.

8 AND UP
Great movie... very naughty children learn how to behave well... and a nice warm story with soft ups and downs and lots of funny moments... no drinking no smoking... i don't remember any rude language... about sexuality well, there's a scene when the kids put an insect on a women's hair (she's willing to marry their dad) he throws himself at her and the girl says not so fast... its repeated i guess another time with the tea... and when he proposes to marry her the woman says to the children daddy needs to have some time with ur new mother and she closes the door... these things are not to worry about could be explained differently to children it could be explained like he looked like he attacked her and ruined everything and she did close the door so that she wanted to talk privately to their father... my sister was 9 years old when she watched it and she didn't notice a thing at all... its funny and a cool movie for kids this age they'll like it + its highly educative.. and i remember there's a kiss at the end when they get married :) ENJOY THE MOVIE

An Educational, Feel-Good Movie
This movie is very educational, the messages are good, and the role models are superb. For example, these children learn to behave and by the end of the movie they are excellent role models for children. This is my favorite movie of all time. It may be difficult for children who have lost a parent or loved one to watch because the children's mother is dead. My only concern is gross scenes. For example, one scene includes having tea and the children have put worms, toads, spiders, etc. in the food. Another concern is that younger children might not understand the Browns' situation. As I said, it is very good educationally because naughty children become kinder and become positive role models. The message is very positive, also. The acting is performed very well. These are my highlights and concerns about Nanny McPhee.

Freaky and NON FUNNY comic relief
*sigh* really, really boring. nanny mcphee is really freaky ... comical humor, NOT for people over eight. they will just think it's dumb, as did I.

Spoiled by crude innuendo!
I was shocked by the 'crude suggestions' and innuendo which the film contained! I think it completely spoiled an otherwise innocent and fun story. I can't believe I'm the only person to object to it. I have never enjoyed crude 'carry-on film' type humour, I dont' think it's appropriate for children and this is where I find fault with Nanny McPhee.
