This movie is NOT for all teens, and definitely not for children. This movie is about teens being independent in New York, making their own choices, and living with the good or bad that comes with them. There is sex, underage drinking, and reckless behavior, but there is also a bright side. At the end of the movie, the two main characters have to make an important decision on their own. Stay with the people that only want to be around them because of benefits they may be able to receive from them, or go with the people that love them for who they really are. This movie shines light on even when everything is crazy around you, and everyone wants something from you, its still important to be yourself. Not the best movie, but not the worst either. There are some laughs, and definitely some fun moments, but also some moments when you wonder "what were they thinking". Again this movie isn't for all eyes, and though it's pretty much the same old story, it puts a fun spin on things for the older teen.
I was disappointed by the movie. My daughter saw it with friends before I had a chance to review it, and told me how funny it was. I watched it with her and was really bummed at the messages. I felt it really cheapened intimacy and was really suggestive for a high school target audience. Lots of drinking and partying - no parental involvement at all. Basically teenagers living adult lives with pretty promiscuous adult behavior.
Saw this movie and really disliked it. Too much drinking, sexual situations that were too much for younger teens. More than that, the characters were annoying and it never made sense why they even liked each other. I wouldn't want my teenager to waste his time on this movie. I found very little positive in it.
We thought it would be a fun indy film-instead, it sends the message that a girl isn't cool unless she's had an orgasm and everyone is having orgasms. I was so sad that any teenage girl would see this and see that message. The lead girl only finds confidence in the fact that she finally has an orgasm with a guy.
Believable????? Yeah, right. This movie is solely, utterly, world-revolves-around-it, about sex. This review doesn't do justice. The plotline revolves around it, and quite frankly, is terrible. Don't watch it.
this is a pg13 superbad, mixed with more romance than superbad was. and it is actually enjoyable. I had wanted to see this wen it came out, but no one wanted to go with me. so i kinda forgot about it. until a few weeks ago i saw it in a used dvd store and bought it. i avoided watching it for 2 weeks because i thought it was a love story. It really wasnt to much. And i really enjoyed it. There is tons of sexual content, etc (like the bands names) in this movie. same with language (one fword at the beggining). but overall i enjoyed it
Also there is tons of drinking
The more and more I do these reviews I realize kids have some bad taste. This movie was mindless, it really was very predictable and not very good. The message was definitely inappropriate for kids. If you are going to let your kids watch this and you don't want them to being sleeping with other people then you should most certainly talk to your kids on what is and isn't okay in this movie.
This movie, like the book, is hilarious but also contains a few things that you might not want your kids to hear. Namely a scene involving drag that younger kids might ask you about and it could just be uncomfortable.
Amazing movie. A must see for everyone. Cute romantic comedy that is both funny and satisfying. Lots of stuff about relationships. Both main characters are very good and responsible role models. They do seem to be "parentless" though, but even without adult presence they are pretty responsible for their age.
It was a pretty desient movie. Typical indie flick. Not to bad under age drinking is shown. Teenage gays are fetured and talk of sex is herd. Some swearinig (normal for PG-13)
This is a great movie but does have sexual behavior and has a lot of drinking in it. I think the movie is appropriate for mature kids, mature as in won't be badly influenced by the film. It does have some good role models though. No where in the movie do people pick on the other guys in Nicks band who are gay. All in all I think it is an entertaining movie.
This is a very cute and different movie, I loved it! Whatever you do, don't watch it with your parents or your older siblings though; just watch it with a friend your age or by yourself! The content is pretty edgy but hilarious, there's some gross stuff but teens can handle it. I loved the gay guys, they were hilarious! A cute movie, great for high schoolers.
