Tigger & Pooh and a Musical Too (NR, 2009)

In TIGGER & POOH AND A MUSICAL TOO, the Hundred Acre Wood clan learns that respect and understanding can help overcome any problem that arises between friends. The story begins at a picnic Rabbit's (Ken Sansom) organized to celebrate the group's friendship. As a token of their appreciation for his hard work, his pals appoint him Mayor, but trouble ensues when Rabbit uses his new power to create a laundry list of rules that wind up making life unbearable for the Hundred Acre Wood residents. Darby (Chloe Moretz), Pooh (Jim Cummings), Tigger (Cummings again), and their pals must remind Rabbit that kindness and compassion are integral parts of being a good friend.

A.A. Milne's timeless characters (as well as more recent additions like Darby and Lumpy) receive yet another makeover in this CG-enhanced movie that celebrates the enduring bonds of friendship and reminds viewers that just as any of us can cause strife within relationships, we're all capable of playing peacemaker as well. The story's emphasis on communication and respect for others is unmistakable, and these and other strong messages are further emphasized in delightful original songs like "One Big Happy Family" and "Underneath the Same Sky."

Because this movie is closely tied to its parent series My Friends Tigger & Pooh, kids getting their first exposure to the energetic cast with this story may express a new interest in seeing the show.
