Hilarious, Graphic Fun!
I love this movie. It's hilarious. The preformances were awesome (especially Downey Jr.; well done; and I would've rated it the best preformance of 2008 if it weren't for Ledger's Joker) and the humor was hysterical! Perants: the violence is surpisingly graphic for a comedy; lots of blood, guts, and people being blown up/apart. A man's head is seen, a character's guts are spilled out, etc. Very funny, very raunchy, and very violent; I loved it!

The Funniest movie of 2008
Tropic Thunder is an ironic, witty, satirical, and downright hilarious movie that makes fun of everthing from prima donnas in hollywood, overuse of sequels, and just the movie business itself. This movie is also filled with perfect writing, and it is probably one of the most quotable movies i have ever seen. Every character in this movie is also hilarious from RDJ's performance as Kirk Lazarus who won't drop out of character, Ben Stiller as the actor who just can't stop acting in flops, Jack Black as the slapstick comedy star with drug problems, Brandon T. Jackson as Alpa Chino, who has an energy drink called 'booty sweat' and an energy bar called 'bust a nut", and Jay Baruchel as Kevin Sandusky, he has some funny lines but he doesn't really stand out as a huge, rich character, he just knows a lot about blu-ray vs hd dvd. Anyways, Tropic Thunder is simply hilarious from the main performances and even Danny MCbride, and Tom Cruise are hilarious in their small roles, and you are going to laugh no matter what.

This film needs to clean up its act
This is the dirtiest film (outside of Team America World Police) I have ever seen. Is it funny? Sort of. It is Clever? Sometimes. Is it appropriate for anyone under the age of 17? NO! If you can think of a cuss word, in the first ten minutes of the film they probably use it. Is there nudity, yes, Stillers agent flips through a pornographic book while talking to stiller, and quite a few other things. Even I felt dirty after watching it. Personally, this film shouldn't be seen by anyone under the age of 21. A 2 out of 5

Misunderstood Movie
I think this movie was Hilarious! I watched it 5 times and still fell off my seat laughing eachtime. I think this film would be innapropiate for children under the age 16. There is alot of graphic viloence and there is also alot of cursing. I would deffinitly remmomend this to anyone with a sick sense of humor. I also feel that everyone made a big deal out of nothing with the whole "retard" situation. I was iffy about watching this movie because I have a disabled child, but I was not offended at all. It is a great movie to sit down and watch to get a good hard laugh!

It got better and better each tiem I watched it.
Tropic Thunder was a kind of funny movie with a pointless hour. A waste of meny in theaters. I rent it and rewatch it 6 times in 2 weeks and fell in love. It is smart, violent, mouthy, and overall hilarious the humor in this is incredible and the best Comedy of 2008.

Horrible!
I bought this movie for my son, thinking a little comedy violence would be o.k,but did not go any further with this movie than the opening (fake previews)because of the video at the beginning. The use of the word p***y and the butt shaking was ridiculous and I wouldn't let a 16yr old watch this movie.

THE WORST MOVIE EVER---TRASH, APPROPRIATE FOR NO HUMAN BEING
- I rate this title on for age 17 and give it
Very Funny but slightly Formulaic
This movie was very funny and had some brilliant parts to it. Somehow though, it still felt very much like a Ben Stiller Movie. In my opinion, Robert Downey Jr was the best part of the film. Tom Cruise was also very funny. I do not recommend this film for anyone below 17 as it is full of violence, drug references, etc.

Stupid, very funny movie for older teens
Yes there was very strong lanugage throughout, but the movie made me laugh hysterically. The opening is genius, and the plot itself is a little confusing, but if you talk it over with a friend, you're good. RDJ was excellent, and Ben Stiller and Jack Black were great too. NOT....FOR...KIDS. I'd just like to make that clear.

Hilarious movie, definetely not for young teens e.g 10-13. Great how they made Tom Cruise actually act well in this movie, and I love how they changed Downey Junior into a black guy, I couldn't recognise him! Good film.

Funny movie~
It was pretty funny; good enough to watch twice. (although it's not as funny the second time) It was full of dark humor, some parts were slightly disturbing. It was a very entertaining movie, I'll probably watch it again, again. It's not something someone under the age of 13 should watch; lots of violence, language, and a young boy selling illegal drugs.

Tropic Thunder has great characters.
Tropic Thunder is one of the best comedies of 2008 because ben stiller has been having a few rough patches in movies and this one was his real spark. A great comedy.

An amazing comedy epic!
I'm 14, and a big Ben Stiller fan, this film is an epic! It's funny, witty, and comicly violent! The humor and language are a little mature, but kids hear twice as bad out of friends and parents! The violence is not at all realistic, and there is no nudity, even in the directors cut, which I own.

Didn't bother me
I'm 13 and I watched this movie on my last birthday with my dad and my friends. We all laughed at every joke, even the oral sex jokes. I really didn't feel uncomfortable because my dad already knew that I knew about that stuff. I hear bad words all the time, so I didn't mind the profainty one bit. If you honestly think your mature enough, and you understand drugs and sex and such, then its your choice to see this movie.

Clever satire, but some jokes in bad taste.
I am fourteen and I watched this movie...and was extremely uncomfortable. Yes, it was witty, yes, it was funny...but I would have appreciated much more if I had waited a few years. I actually thought that the whole blackface thing was excellent satire on being overly politically correct and how we need to let go of typical black stereotypes, but the "retard" jokes and especially the drug references were way, way over the top. The drugs bothered me even more due to Ben Stiller's friend Owen Wilson struggles with addiction. The language was awful - the movie wouldn't have suffered for having a few less F-bombs, etc. Oral sex references were embarrassing (I watched this with my dad). And, to go back to the whole "retard" thing...it wasn't quite as bad as people made it out to be, and some aspects of the joke were clever satire, but it could have been done in a way that was less derogatory and more of an entertaining spoof on the portrayal of mental disabilities in the media. All in all, a good movie; but definitely don't bring the kids.

Crass, dumb, and unfunny
The CM review sure nailed it on the language part: Pretty much every sentence has an R-rated word with very few exceptions. Undoubtedly F*** is every characters favorite word. It is used as an adjective, a verb, a noun, and a adverb; sometimes all in the same line. Someone wishing to conduct a study on the word F*** would probably find this movie very helpful--not only would it give them hundreds of chances to hear it spoken by several different caricatures, but it might numb their minds so much that even after the movie ends F*** continues ringing in their ears until they fall asleep, then they dream about it until the next morning when they wake up and continue. I can normally forgive profanity if it is justified or funny, but here it is neither. After the positive response from critics I was surprised to watch this and find how very unfunny it was. The fake commercials at the beginning weren't amusing in the slightest-why does everyone think they're clever? LOL THEY MAKE FUN OF OTHER MOVIES. So? I've seen that before, without the profanity. The CM missed something in the sex/nudity area. One of the contacts briefly looks through a porn book while talking on the phone, and you get close-up on it as he flips through it. It was disgusting and unnecessary. I am convinced this movie is for 10 year-olds. That is the only thing I can make of it. Why put juvenile flatulence humor in a movie for "adults"? To make the 10 year-olds who will watch laugh. Who will giggle everytime they hear the F*** word? 10 year-olds who watch this movie and think they're cool. There are a few laughs to be had but I think this is a dumb and crass movie and will not recommend it.

13 and up for fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I say this movie is iffy, I mean that it is a hard core R movie, with almost a world rcord of F--ks. Many people are fans of this movie, including middle schoolers, but I think it would be okay for 13 and up. Parents should strongly supervise children while watching this movie, and be aware of swearing fits, and sexual content. Pretty bad, but cheesy violence makes this movie funny!

Tropic Thunder
This is a very, very funny film. Parents need to watch it first and then decide if their kids should see it. Because Common Sense Media can review this film and tell you all about it. But the thing is every single parent has different views on every film. Like me I am 14 years old. I have seen many Hard-R films. I have heard the "f-word" numerous, numerous amount of times and I know that it is a bad word and I don't need to use it but the thing is I already know what the word is. I can watch a PG-13 movie with 1 f-word and then a R Movie with 300 and that ain't going to change a thing. I have seen many films with sex/nudity again nothing I have never seen before. I also know all these films with drugs in it. Again, I know drugs lead to destruction and in some rare occasions death. This film has about 67 f-words and drugs are visible. Talk of sex. Also "P*ssy" is said numerous times. Parents watch it first and then decide.

Once is enough for me!
I saw this movie with my cousins and although it had some extremely funny parts, the humor mostly was very crude. I like intelligent humor, so if you're like me, then this movie might not be the one for you! Jack Black was fantastic though!

Freakin Hilarious Movie!
I thought it was hilarious, inspecially Robert Downey Jr. which goes to surgery to fit a man in a movie. Not really that bad for ages 14+, but that's what i think.
