I think the movie should be rated differently. It was not funny. It was silly and inappropriate. The language and sexual content are not necessary and the movie would have been better without them.

Hated it. Have loved Jack Black in other films; Nacho Libre, School of Rock; this was extremely disappointing; turned it off after the f*** bomb dropped and scene after scene of sexual innuendos; we got maybe 30 minutes if not less into the movie.

The movie berates themes many feel are a matter of faith. The language is offensive. We left before getting too far into the comedy.

This should be rated R in my opinion. I didn't do my homework before taking my 14 year old to this with my fater-in-law. It seemed like the whole movie was focused on sexual activities and was very uncomfortable to watch. I wouldn't recommend this movie to adults.

Some parts were acceptable.. I laughed a few times. The Poop scene was a bit vulgar/crude.

no wonder we have so much ignorance as to the true facts. I will not attempt to hide the truth of history from my child, bloody or otherwise. I will teach him the *real* truth, though, and not this farcical and inappropriate view of it. This movie isn't good for ANY age to see, but especially not my child. Garbage in, garbage out.

I hate this movie It was stupid.the language in the film was raunchy and crude non-stop. One of the main characters in the movie talked about having sex with his crush through the whole movie.Some strong amounts of drinking in some parts of the movie. THIS FILM WAS ORIGINALLY SUPPOSE TO BE RATED R and it's still just as bad. :(

This movie was really awkward and disgusting. One part was funny, but the rest was just gross, unfunny, and a waste of money.

the two jokes i found funny were the joke when they light the guys house on fire and he starts screaming and then he goes oh wait that's not my house and when kain kills his brother abel in a ludicrously funney scene

This should have worked. I mean, it had an all star ensemble of very talented actors. It was even written by Harold Ramis, he made Ghostbusters for crying out loud! That just makes this dissapointing film all the more, well, dissapointing. The first couple of scenes were pretty funny, I was expecting a new Monty Python or History Of The World Pt. 1. What I did get, however, is one of the worst and most vulgar PG-13 films of the past decade (And that's no small feat). Like I said in my review of Transformers 2, if the sex jokes aren't good enough to be in an American Pie film, then they aren't good enough to exist, period. That statement applys perhaps more to this movie than TF2. That said, I don't recommend this film for teens not just because it's VERY vulgar, but because it's nothing more than an unfunny SNL skit stretched out for 90 minutes. One historical spoof I DO recommend is Monty Python & The Holy Grail

This movie is AMAZING !!!! It was one of the best comedies I've ever seen. I do NOT recommend it for religious people, though. The underlying message of the whole thing is that god does not exist. Its a great eye opener, though, and points out a lot of religion's flaws, especially those made by ancient people. It's meant to be a comedy, and thought it can get gross at many parts, it is hilarious!! Violence: a lot!!! :P Sex: a lot :P Language: some, but nothing worse than what your kids could see every day on the streets Commercialism: none that I noticed, and I ALWAYS notice that Drugs/Drinking: Some, but not too noticeable Message: If you consider open-mindedness a bad message, then yes. Role Models: EVERY movie has bad role models (the bad guy!). Jack Black is probably the bad role model in this whole thing, but his friend is a very good role model! He stays true to the love of his life and is always smart and cautious.

This was by far, one of the dumbest movies I have EVER seen. There was inappropriate language, sexual humor, and plenty of comic violence. If you are wanting to see this movie, take it from a person who loves spoofs and comedies and DON'T SEE IT!! (especially if you are a christian). Big waste of money!

I'm 16 and thought the movie was not funny whatsoever. It had its moments though. If you go to see it I wouldn't take a girl or a christian who takes offense easily to jokes against their religion.

this movie is fine not bad at all

it was really funny, and a great movie to go see with friends. however, it did have some really grosss chunks, and the humor was rather unintelligent.

This was, by far, the worst movie i have ever seen. The characters were shallow and not in the least compelling. The story was incredibly obnoxious, and slow moving (by the end I was still wondering what the plot was supposed to be). The story was not original at all (it was quite similar to a much funnier movie by Mel Brooks). This was the biggest waste of money and comedic talent I have ever seen. If you are considering seeing this, my advice is to wait until it is on DVD, or better yet, never see it at all.
