Common Sense Note

Parents need to know that although Madonna is fond of pushing the envelope when it comes to being sexual, this single is very tame. There are two lines of mild innuendo but nothing to make parents -- or even grandparents -- cringe. Note: Madonna's upcoming album, Hard Candy comes out at the end of April so check back soon for our full review.

Common Sense Review

Reviewed By: Heidi Kotansky

"4 MINUTES TO SAVE THE WORLD," Madonna's first single from her upcoming album, Hard Candy, is a dance track with a heavy horn influence. Justin Timberlake makes an appearance and omnipresent Timbaland produced it.

The different and edgy sound that Madonna prides herself on is missing from "4 Minutes to Save the World." While the afrobeat horn breaks drive the energy of the single, Madonna takes back stage to Timberlake's best impersonation of Michael Jackson and the overpowering erratic electronic sounds signature of Timbaland's production. It's a solid song, but it's too similar to what every pop artist is putting out these days and true blue Madonna fans won't be, well, a fan.

Sexual Content

Yes, it's Madonna, but there's nothing explicit or highly suggestive: "I want somebody to speed it up for me then take it down slow" and "Say the word, and I will give you what you want" is as bad as it gets.
