What Parents Need to Know

About The All-American Rejects

Parents need to know that this debut album is a harmless look at the experience of first love and the angst that sometimes comes with getting hurt. Younger teens in the throes of crushes and loves will appreciate -- if not relate -- to the whiny, self-absorbed tone.

I rate this title off for age 16 and give it 1.0
    My concerns are:
    • Inappropriate sexual content
    • Drinking, smoking, or drug use
    • Negative role models

    Set a terrible example

This band set a terrible example on stage. Hiding behind the cute lyrics and fun music is a group of people who are not to be role models to anybody. They were drinking on stage. The lead singer was in a dress(ok, so what?) and then proceeded to lift the dress to above his waist, showing everyone his underwear. He said many sexual things on stage as well as terribly harsh language. He also went through the crowd and got kisses from a number of girls. He often had the crowd repeat vulgar or sexual lines back to him. I was extremely disappointed. Although their music does not portray it, the character of the band is nothing to be supported.
