Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that Corbin Bleu's lyrics are predictably tame (if not impressive) with a gentle "I'm OK the way I am, and so are you" message. But, it's weird how the teens in his world have no trouble getting into after-hours dance clubs.
Families can talk about the themes of this CD. Why is it important not to give up when things get tough? What's important for friends to do for each other? Families can also discuss the connection between Corbin's CD and his on-screen fame. Do you like him better as an actor or a singer?
Common Sense Review

Corbin Bleu seems to live in a world where all the girls are pretty, families work out problems by talking things over, and underage teens have no trouble getting into after-hours dance clubs. The star of the Disney Channel's High School Musical and Jump In! delivers a dozen high-energy, danceable pop tunes with gently positive messages about being yourself.
"I don't worry 'bout tryin' to fit in/long as you're cool we can be friends/I'm a little bit of this and a little bit of that/best of both worlds all over the map" he sings on "Mixed Up." If there's a message in this music, it's a gentle one promoting friendship and self-esteem, and not giving up when things get tough: "No words describe a mother's tears/No words can heal a broken heart/A dream is gone, but where there's hope/Put your faith in what you most believe in/Two worlds, one family/Trust your heart/Let fate decide" ("Two Worlds").
When he's not figuring out what life's all about, Corbin's trying to figure out how to get a pretty girl's attention, with sweetly flirtatious songs like "Homework" and "She Could Be." His good-guy sensitivity, adorable good looks (how many products does he use to get his hair to look that amazing?) and a generous helping of actual musical talent insure that he's unlikely to have much trouble getting the girls to notice him, but how DOES he get into those dance clubs?
Fans of this CD might also have fun dancing to the High School Musical and Jump In! soundtracks.
