Parents need to know

Parents need to know this is an album of expressive love songs full of playful reflection and introspection. There's almost nothing offensive here, except for a few lines like "we're lying naked under the covers."

Families can talk about musical training. Do you think it matters these days whether or not artists are formally trained? Can you still be a popular artist today if you weren't trained at an early age? Do artists with rich musical backgrounds have an advantage, or can anyone become popular?

Matt White is the total package -- a truly extraordinary singer, songwriter, and classically-trained musician with good looks that rival a young James Dean. BEST DAYS explores love in a tasteful manner.

Is it any good?

4
Love and self-discovery are definitely the themes here, but the songs are not your average run-of-the-mill love songs. White brings such raw talent to this 11-song compilation, that it's hard to stop listening. The songs transcend average with their originality and meaningfulness. And White's voice is so pure, it only adds to the sweetness of what you're hearing. Inevitable John Mayer comparisons aside, Best Days is one of the best albums this that has come out in a long time.
