Parents need to know
Many mini-lessons lurk in Elmo's funny songs. "A Fine Face" describes the function of each facial feature, and "Take a Breath" makes kids aware of how essential breathing is. Ernie and Elmo prepare kids for school by describing a typical day in "Off to School," and Elmo gets especially ecstatic when someone is finally able to read what he has written ("Elmo Wrote His Name").

THE BEST OF ELMO gets off to a great start with the Sesame Street theme song, and many kids will be entertained and engaged for the entire length of this album. The songs are full of valuable lessons, and the recording features a variety of music--from the energetic "Elmo's Alphabet Rap" to the soft, inspirational "Just One Person."
Preschoolers will want to create their own song while listening to "Elmo's Song," replacing their names with Elmo's to make their own special version. And they'll feel reassured to know what school is really like, as Ernie and Elmo describe academic life in "Off to School."
Children will especially appreciate guest appearances by some of Sesame Street's other favorite characters, including Big Bird, Snuffleupagus, Telly Monster, and Cookie Monster.
