Parents need to know

Parents need to know that this is a dance-floor-ready collection of tween-friendly pop tunes. The lyrics focus almost exclusively on romance and relationships with very subtle, non-explicit allusions to sex.

Families can talk about how Jennifer Lopez's public image has changed over the last few years. She went from a series of high-profile relationships to a seemingly more grounded and low-key marriage to Marc Anthony. Do the lyrics on this new album reflect this? What do you think she's referring to on "Mile in these Shoes"? Could it be some of the past rumors about her unreasonable diva demands? Or the gossip about her prior romances with other celebrities? Is she a better role model today than she was a few years ago?

Message

Social Behavior:

Themes of staying together and making relationships work and "cuddling over clubbing."

Consumerism:

One reference to Veuve Clicquot champagne, and another to YSL.

Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco:

"Do it Well" references sipping rose wine and champagne.

Violence

Sex

Very mildly saucy lyrics in "Hold it Don't Drop it," such as "I need your love inside of me." Reference to "fo'play" on the version of "Do it Well" featuring Ludacris.

What's the story?

Reviewed by Denise Duval

J. Lo continues to add to her life portfolio. BRAVE, her sixth studio album, follows hot on the heels of her first Spanish-language release, the start of her world tour with hubby Marc Anthony, a new fragrance, a movie, a fashion line, and now a family. The CD includes songs sure to be big hits: "Do it Well" is big and brassy and features Ludacris on a bonus-track version, and "Mile in these Shoes" has already been used as backup music in a Desperate Housewives promo spot.

Is it any good?

While Brave seems a little formulaic and predictable, it's J. Lo doing what she does best -- churning out glossy, dance-floor-ready groove-shakers. With a soulful ballad or two, more than one nod to '70s funk, and even a little bubblegum pop, Brave has plenty to keep the toes tapping.

Jennifer has a few good dance tracks!!!

Jennifer has a few good dance tracks on her new record including "Stay Together", "Forever", "Do it Well", "Mile in these Shoes", and "Brave". Overall, alot of filler, but worth the money. No issues except for a tad bit of commercialism, but kids won't know what they're talking about anyway. if you like to dance go buy this record. Overall- 8+ Well have a great time listening to this sweet, uplifting dance tracks.
