Jennifer Lopez changes direction on COMO AMA UNA MUJER (How A Woman Loves). Entirely in Spanish, the album boasts 11 tracks, mostly ballads that reveal a new maturity and depth in the pop star's voice and deportment. Elegant, intense, and lush, these songs bypass the dance floor and aim directly at the heart. Spanish-speaking families will enjoy hearing Lopez sing, while Spanish-class students will find that the lyrics are clearly enunciated and easy to hear -- a perfect supplement to their vocabulary and verb conjugation exercises.

In the hands of producers Marc Anthony, Estefano, and Julia Reyes, the tracks of Como Ama Una Mujerleave plenty of space for the star to take command of the romantic moments and melodies. The high points (especially "Tu" and the gorgeous finale "Adios") are custom-made to set the mood for thoughts of longing and love. Sweethearts of any nationality will understand the message that love is a complicated, beautiful thing.
