What Parents Need to Know

About D 12 World

Parents need to know that there is absolutely nothing socially redeeming about this album, but guess what? It's funny and imaginative anyway. Definitely not for everybody (or those under 17), but for those mature enough to see through crude puerile posturing, there's some good writing and a lot of humor. Approach with caution.

I rate this title off for age 17 and give it 3.0
    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence
    • Inappropriate sexual content
    • Inappropriate language
    • Drinking, smoking, or drug use
    • Negative message
    • Negative role models

Violent imagery includes various forms of murder, a lot of which is against women. Women are also lyrically raped in many songs, and there's many shocking references to violence (including one verse where a rapper threatens to cut a woman's breasts off). The album is very sexually perverse, making jokes about things like rape, incest, and bestiality, among other things. It should come as no surprise that nearly every obscenity, slur, and otherwise vulgar phrase is used in this album. This album is much more offensive than Eminem's solo stuff, which was already pushing the obscenity limit as it is. Some songs on this album are fun to listen to, with catchy beats and humorous lyrics, but D12's first album ("Devil's Night") is infinitely better, even if it is more obscene.

funny but where do you draw the line

D12 world is a great example of how rap artists can be serious and be joking on the same album but, D12 world is another great example of an album where you might happen to not know whether they are joking about some of the topics. There are many fighting songs so the violent factor is high. How come is a great song which shows some of D12 sensitive side and D12 routinely pays homeage to the late Cornell pitts aka Bugz with Good Die young and Bugz 97 which is a freestyle by Bugz. Overall a good rap album if your into mixing humor and violence

    Great for 16+

This cd is great if you are looking for a raunchy cd that will have you listening to it over and over. Don't play in front of little kids. Highlight songs: Good Die Young,40 Oz, American Physco II, and Get My Gun.
