What Parents Need to Know
About Daniel Powter
Parents need to know that there are just a couple of references to drinking and getting high, and lyrics deal a lot with the issue of truth and lies.

Ok, but not great, fine for any kid 11+...
The songs of Danile Powter have their own signature style, each is sort of moody, perhaps boring, and the lyrics aren't too great, but it's something to listen to on a rainy day and enjoy. there are some great songs, lik "Suspect", "Bad day" and maybe "Lie To Me" or "Free Loop". there isn't much about sex in here, just a couple sentences about it in the song "Lie To Me" saying things like, "she got hips sway for you, she got legs that never really stop, she leads me in and undress me, and I do like I should." Now any eleven-year-old or even ten-year-old should be mature enough to be ok with that. there is absultely no language or violence, but thereis some mentioning of getting high and things like that. It's an Ok CD, but download the whole thing like me, just get the songs you like.

One good song...
Yes, i agree that Bad Day was the only good song on this CD. I do like the catchy tune it carries. It does get stuck in your head..lol..but its all in all a good song...Mr. Powters video Bad Day was very cute. As for the other songs..dont like them so much. Dont like the drug references. I know they were part of his life and lotz of musicians write and sing about their past but i think its not good for kids to hear someone singing about it. Where is Mr. Powter now? I think he might just be a One hit wonder. Maybe he will prove me wrong...we will have to wait and see.

Good, moody music. Good lyrics.
This is good moody music. I like the lyrics, sort of stuff to listen to on a rainy day. There isn't much offense material. "Lie to Me" has a referance at the beginning, and there are a couple areas that talk about getting high and drinking. Still, it's good music. Can be easily forgotten however, when another Cd is bought.

don't waste your money
Daughter bought this cd for "Bad Day" - good song. The rest of the cd is trash - casual sex, doing drugs, very socially irresponsible from someone Powter's age. Download "Bad Day" from the web and leave the cd in the store.
