What’s the Story?

DECODE is the first of two Paramore songs included on the soundtrack for the movie adaptation of Twilight. The movie is about the intense connection between an immortal vampire and a teenage human girl, and this bold, romantic song deals with the confusion in that relationship.

Thanks to 18-year-old frontwoman Hayley Williams' striking, heartwrenching vocals and Paramore's dramatic pop-punk sound, "Decode" will get anxious fans' blood pumping as they await the release of the movie. Williams' voice is strong, with a sense of aching vulnerability; it rises and falls over the heavy, driving guitar to create an effective, engaging balance from beginning to end. The lyrics lament, "I'm screaming, 'I love you so' on my own, my thoughts you can't decode." It shouldn't take long for fans to decode their feelings about this song: It's something to really sink your teeth into.
