Eat Every Bean and Pea on Your Plate
Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that there's nothing offensive here.
Families can talk about what makes rock 'n' roll so enjoyable. They can discuss some of the song's themes, such as good nutrition and dealing with siblings. Or they might just want to have a living room dance party!

Daddy A Go Go, aka John Boydston, who produced and played the instruments -- and sang the songs -- on EAT EVERY BEAN AND PEA ON YOUR PLATE, is assisted by a crew of able-bodied musicians and singers that include his family. They power their way through a fifth offering of squeaky-clean, kid-friendly songs.
With nods mostly to the classic and alternative rock genres, Daddy A Go Go tackles the subjects of proper nutrition for the small fry, a losing baseball team, the curse of having a younger sibling, and the virtues of hanging up the cell phone while driving, all presumably aimed at the 5- to 7-year-old set.
Other songs include a reworked cover of Blitzkrieg Bop as "Kids Beat Bop," Spinal Tap's "Listen to the Flower People," a pun-ridden take on Pink Floyd called "Pink Floyd Saves Hugh Manatee," and a very lovely instrumental of Lulu's "To Sir With Love" ala surf-twang guitar.
Daddy A Go Go certainly does rock, but this album is probably best appreciated after repeated listens as the various references to rock bands and songs become more obvious.
Bottom line: If CDs were made of vinyl your kids would probably wear it out! This is a fun CD for the whole family to enjoy.
