"Get Back" (CD single)
What’s the Story?
Watch out: "GET BACK," the first single off Demi Lovato's debut album, is loud and in charge. It debuts to much buzz, with Lovato being compared to Miley Cyrus ever since her breakout performance in Disney's Camp Rock alongside the Jonas Brothers. The JoBros helped to produce and write this song about winning a boyfriend back, and their trademark rock guitar riffs and up-tempo vocals are well represented.
Is It Any Good?
Get Back begins with a guitar intro straight out of a Van Halen album. Lovato then jumps right into rocking her lyrics, with a little bit of sultry sass. The single has the retro '80s rock pop sound that's currently being made popular by the Jonas Brothers on their own albums. Compared to many of Lovato's songs which she wrote herself, "Get Back" is lighter and definitely radio-friendly. Her vocals are clear and well executed while the thunderous chorus is dance-inspiring. Overall, this is a fun introduction to a promising Disney star.
