Why We Rated This on for Ages 14 and Up

What to watch out for

  • Messages:

They occasionally objectify women, but nothing heavy. Lots of "we young rock Gods are going to make it big" stuff.
  • Violence:

    Not an issue.
  • Sex:

Nothing too overt. There is some typical, rock guy swagger and a mention or two about taking a girl home. But worry not. Jet alone won?t inspire kids all over America to have reckless sex.
  • Language:

One song is called "Cold Hard Bitch". That?s about it for the whole record, outside of a mention of talking s*** in "Get Me Outta Here."
  • Consumerism:

    Not an issue.
  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

"Get Me Outta Here" makes a reference to drinking all night. That?s about it.

What Parents Need to Know

About Get Born

Parents need to know that they shouldn't let this group's semi-grubby look fool them. It's true that Jet is interested in projecting a down-and-dirty rock vibe, but not by being obscene or going overboard. They like women and bars -- pretty standard young rock guy stuff. But it's not too overt, and certainly not as bad as some of their pop-rock contemporaries.

    One of my favorite CDs

Easily one of the best cds i've ever listened to, ranking with Winning Days, Meteora, Hybrid Theory, and even Led Zeppelin II. It has the same classic garage band vibe as The Vines, The Hives, and The Strokes, and it succeeds in using this to its advantage. Overall it's AWESOME. And dont be worried about any of the swearwords.

    Rock

Nice Rock 'n' Roll. About as good as the Strokes or Yeah Yeah Yeahs, better then White Stripes. I enjoy the album.

    great cd

the whole cd was great and when i first bought it for their hits "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Cold Hard B---h" but once i bought it and listened to all the songs i found out how talented jet is at singing ballads and i was very impressed by the bands' singing talent.
