What Parents Need to Know

This review of "I Want it All" (CD single) was written by Heidi Kotansky

Parents need to know that this is another single from the upcoming High School Musical 3: Senior Year. It's relatively fine for the tween set, although it does talk about wanting all the fame and fortune that comes with being a famous actor.

What’s the Story?

In this single from the upcoming High School Musical 3: Senior Year siblings Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan (Lucas Gabreel) banter back and forth about their wish to become big, big stars.

Is It Any Good?

High School Musical fans will be disappointed with this tune. More like a dialog set to music instead of an actual song with singing, "I WANT IT ALL" comes out sounding like something from a bad Off-Off-Off-Broadway musical and definitely falls flat. Maybe in the context of the movie, the singing/talking of the "song" would make sense and actually flow. But instead, it sounds too forced and strangely out of place for HSM. Ashley Tisdale does have a decent voice, but there's no way to tell in this track -- and instead of singing along, kids will most likely be hitting the fast forward button.
