Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that there's some steamy innuendo on songs like "Push" ("I know that your man's nowhere in sight/and your eyes don't tell a lie/I know you wanna come with me tonight/And I say alright/But first you gotta Push push back upon it…make me believe you want it") and "On Top of You" ("Baby you're gonna love what I do when I'm on top of you") -- not only in the lyrics, but in Enrique's smooth, pretty-boy delivery. If there's one loud and clear message, it's "You don't have to leave tonight. Really, you don't."
Families can talk about what makes someone a world-class flirt. Why do some people seem to be so good at attracting romantic attention, while others find flirting awkward? Enrique Iglesias seems like someone who flirts easily and well. How can you tell when someone is flirting with you? Spanish speakers and students may enjoy the three tracks that are included in both Spanish and English.
Common Sense Review

Turn the romance-o-meter up to eleven for this sweet and pleasant collection of love and/or seduction songs from Latin superstar Enrique Iglesias. With liquid-eyed sincerity and a lot of medium-tempo dance club backbeat, Enrique wants you to know -- without question -- that it is OK if you want to spend the night. Really!
The synthesized instrumental tracks, sparse and hypnotic, leave plenty of room for Enrique's expressive vocals, honey-soaked with an edge of melancholy that never quite turns whiney. Despite one surprisingly successful Li'l Wayne cameo (on "Push"), the whole project sounds as smooth and sexy as satin sheets on a king-sized bed.
Although the innuendo never gets really explicit, there's no doubting Enrique's intentions on songs like "On Top of You" and "Push" ("I know that your man's nowhere in sight/and your eyes don't tell a lie/I know you wanna come with me tonight"), expressing a rather selfish variety of lust without concern for consequences. On another song, "Ring My Bells," "You try to hide it/I know you do. When all you really want is me to come and get you," could either be the singer's frustrated reaction to a woman's mixed messages, or a flat-out unwillingness to accept the concept that no means no -- a big difference, and open to the listener's interpretation.
Whatever the artist's intentions, Enrique Iglesias has come up with a collection of sexy and satisfying songs -- providing perfect background music for flirting.
Fans might have fun comparing Enrique's CDs with those of Julio Iglesias. For some sexy, seductive singers from your parents' generation, check out Marvin Gaye and Barry White.
