What’s the Story?

The JONAS BROTHERS, a delightful young trio from New Jersey, are here to knock your socks off with their sophomore CD. It includes 14 well-delivered, mostly up-tempo (though a couple of ballads slide in and work pretty darn well) pop confections. The CD also offers a solid bonus with the new CDVU+ format, which includes photos, song lyrics, and video clips that are playable on any computer.

Is It Any Good?

Lyrics are carefully innocuous, dealing mostly with the roller-coaster ride of middle-school romance. Performances are energetic and effective, featuring silky-smooth vocals and some excellent guitar work. Mostly, what comes across is a sense of fun and a sweet collective personality with just enough of an edge to make these guys seem like terrific eighth-grade boyfriend material.
