What’s the Story?

LET'S DANCE, the soundtrack recorded to accompany the latest Strawberry Shortcake DVD releases (Let's Dance and The Berry Blossom Festival), delivers 16 imaginative, gentle, and infectious original songs with a slightly irreverent and absurdist edge. Though occasionally indulging in sappy sentiment (as in "A True Friend" and "Sailing Toward Tomorrow"), the Strawberry Shortcake gang prefers its good-time message music on the rocks with a twist.

Is It Any Good?

"Stomp those grapes like they do in France/that's the way we're gonna start this dance" and "Let's dance cause we came through it/let's dance cause we know how" are lyrics with more persuasive oomph than you'll find anywhere in the older Cheetah Girls' oeuvre, and it's a delight to hear any children's song that questions the value of manners.
