What to watch out for

  • Messages:

    Most of the tracks are fun dance songs or love ballad about broken hearts. The only song that might promote questionable behavior is the track "Daylight" which is about being addicted to partying all night. "I swore to myself time and time again that I would give up the nightlife…but it ain't easy sayin' no to my friends 'cause the real set don't get started 'til everyone else is in."

    Not an issue.

  • Sex:

    "Like This" just has some minor sexual references, such as "I'm not talkin' about love, I just wanna get it up."

  • Language:

    Not an issue.

  • Consumerism:

    Not an issue.

  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

    Not an issue.
 

What Parents Need to Know

About Ms. Kelly: Diva Deluxe

Parents need to know that even though this digital-only album was dubbed a "re-release," all but two of the tracks are new -- and all are fun and fairly innocuous. Only "Like This" and "Daylight" might make parents of younger listeners pause for their somewhat mature sexual references. But overall, the former Destiny's Child stays pretty tame and positive.

    I rate this title on for age 11 and give it 5.0

    Positive...

    Though Kelly is not perfect she is very talented and her versatility proves it. The songs range from partying to being in love she does not display any wrongfulness in her music.... I love the album and I feel like it is very powerful, the songs excuse me her lyrics move me and relate to some of my real life situations.... and my home girls also. kelly is overlooked, her sound is fresh, unique and simply Kellz!
