What’s the Story?

There's a physical-fitness crisis among American youth these days, and our friends at Disney are going to stop at nothing to do something about it (actually, they still sell sugar and fat-laden snacks at their theme parks and advertise junk food on TV, but there is that bottom line to think of...). RADIO DISNEY: MOVE IT! offers 15 perky tunes guaranteed to get you and your kids off the barca-lounger and into dancing-machine mode. Queen starts us off with "We Will Rock You," followed by "Move It Like This" by the Baha Men, and "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" by C+C Music Factory. Other predictable but irresistible dance-party hits include Bar-Mitzvah staples "The Macarena" by Los Del Rio, "Cha Cha Slide" by Mr. C the Slide Man, "Limbo Rock Remix (Miami Mix)" by Chubby Checker, and "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People.

Is It Any Good?

Disney gets points for attempting to appeal to a multi-generational audience, as highlights include "I Got You (I Feel Good)" by James Brown (point out the amazing horn parts and rhythm section to your music-student kids) and "Shout" by the Isley Brothers. Over all, this delightful compilation delivers on its promise -- we dare you to listen and not feel like dancing. Just make sure you don't already have all these songs on other CDs before buying.
