Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that Jesse McCartney is still a nice guy, despite some sexier innuendo this time around. One song, "Invincible," tells the story of a drunk-driving tragedy.
Families can talk about "Invincible" and the issue of teens driving drunk. Parents may want to reinforce that kids can always call them for a ride if they're afraid to get in a car with someone who seems to be intoxicated.

TV and boy-band veteran Jesse McCartney is a nice guy, the kind most parents would like to see dating their daughter. At least that's the image that he -- and his record label -- seem to be trying to project.
And most of the songs on RIGHT WHERE YOU WANT ME are declarations of the kind of adoring, romantic love that fuels young teens' fantasies. He's the Boyfriend of Your Dreams. He's also drop-dead good-looking and a terrific singer, so it's no surprise that McCartney's follow-up to his debut album Beautiful Soul is just as successful an effort, if a teensy bit less safe.
Two songs actually get pretty sexy, with playful (if non-explicit) innuendo. "Turn off all the lights and lay back while I blow your mind," he sings on "Blow Your Mind," as well as "she left me on the floor/kept me on my knees just begging for a little more." And "Daddy's Little Girl" expresses delight on the occasion of a girlfriend's 18th birthday. "It's driving your mama crazy ... cause daddy's little girl is now my baby."
But the most substantial song on the album by far is "Invincible," a cautionary tale about the tragic end to a drunken ride down the highway. "Four or five drinks and you were on your way ... you took that turn doing 85 in a 35 ... doctors were trying to save you for three damn hours" are lyrics that might stimulate some family discussion about drinking and driving.
If this is your first Jesse McCartney CD, you'll also enjoy Beautiful Soul. He also adds a track to the bestseller Hannah Montana: Songs From and Inspired by the Series.
