Common Sense Review

The members of Coldplay--a British quartet--understand the concept of the musical hook far better than most of their contemporaries, and their delivery lives up to their vision. "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is soulful, moody, and compelling.
The writing is imaginative, and the musicianship is excellent throughout--magestic and emotional without ever veering over the line into pretentiousness.
You'll hear Pink Floyd and Beatles influences, as well as some downright decent poetry. The whole package is absolutely exquisite.
Play it more than once, especially if you have budding rock musicians in the house. This nearly flawless album is likely to get under your skin, as well as theirs.
