Sesame Street: Platinum Too
Common Sense Note
Every song teaches something valuable. To enhance the lessons, parents need only take the time to draw some attention to the lyrics and their meanings.
Listeners will learn to distinguish sounds, appreciate the wonders of counting, acknowledge that everyone makes mistakes, think about great rhymes like "Caribbean Amphibian," exercise their imaginations, and generally take pride in being themselves.
Common Sense Review
Reviewed By: Lisha Papert Lercari
This Sesame Street album has no particular theme, message or special flavor associated with a character, making it just a nice collection of songs. Several are sung by adults, some by Sesame Street characters, and others by miscellaneous monsters.
The utterly lovely "Imagination," Kermit's amusing "Caribbean Amphibian," and the inspiring "Reach Your Hand Up High" help to define this collection as Platinum. All of the songs are well-known gems for established Sesame Street fans and a good introduction for the few listeners not familiar with the TV series.
