Is It Any Good?

4

This delightful soundtrack is all good fun, and it's also a great way for younger kids to hear "safe" music by performers whose other hits are inappropriate for their age or maturity level.Everyone brings talent and energy to the table, but the most successful tunes are the first two songs on the CD, "Three Little Birds"-- performed by Sean Paul and Ziggy Marley -- and "Car Wash" by Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott. Both are inventive, freshly-produced covers of old hits, and both are more fun than most of the newer songs.

The lyrics are as squeaky-clean as the movie itself, definitely kid-friendly and relentlessly upbeat. The first two tracks, "Lies and Rumors" by D12 and "Gold Digger" by Ludacris (featuring Bobby V. and Lil' Fate) offer the highest fun factor. "Got To Be Real" by Mary J. Blige and Will Smith boasts a classic, danceable R&B arrangement and terrific vocal performances. The Pussycat Dolls and fan_3 keep the party going on "We Went As Far As We Felt Like Going" and "Digits." As you might expect, fish puns abound.
