What Parents Need to Know
About Sleepytime Lullabies
Parents need to know that though this CD is put out by Nickelodeon and features Dora the Explorer on the cover, nothing on the album is tied to any of the shows or characters you might expect. Instead, be prepared for extremely relaxing old-school instrumental covers of classic songs like "Moon River" and "Greensleeves," along with a new release by Columbia recording artist Brandi Carlile.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about why certain music is sleep inducing and why it's nice to drift off listening to pretty songs. You can talk about the artists behind the original versions of the songs (like Carol King and the Beatles) and let your kids hear them and compare. Are there other CDs in your "grown-up" collection that might help send your kids off to sleep?
