What Parents Need to Know

About `Spotlight` (CD single)

Parents need to know that this is a song about a woman trying to get out from under an overbearing relationship. It's fine for young J-Hud fans as there's nothing distasteful about it. Kids will want to hear this track -- and Hudson's upcoming album -- after having seen her on American Idol and in Dreamgirls.

Families Can Talk About

  • Families can talk about Jennifer Hudson's interesting career. Has she already had more success as an actress than she will as a singer? Since season three of American Idol, she's done more movies (Dreamgirls, Sex and the City) than released music, so will fans continue to take her seriously as a singer?
