If you're looking for a tuneful CD likely to please everyone in the family, Steve Tyrell delivers. This is a sweet set of classic songs from the Disney movie archives that will jumpstart a singalong from kids 0-99 on a long car trip. From the beautiful "When You Wish Upon a Star" to the bouncy "Bear Necessities", you will be singing with a smile.
One can only hope that all kids will appreciate the style in which the songs are presented -- small jazz combos, mostly -- as much as adults will. However, it might be that some children will only want to hear one or two of these versions in a row, so you may have to mix Mr. Tyrell's adult-oriented arrangements with some songs that are more in tune with today's production values. No matter, though...a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down!
If there's any fault in this production, it's the fact that nowhere in the liner notes are we informed of the name of the movies that feature these songs. It's a minor inconvenience, but one expects better from the folks at Disney.
