Common Sense Note
Parents need to know that this single -- from one of the original boy bands -- is a fun ode to a summertime romance with just a hint of sexual innuendo.
Families can talk about bands from the 80s reuniting. Why do you think bands like NKOTB plan big reunion tours? Do you think teens today are as interested in their music as the teens from the '80s and '90s, or is it outdated?
Common Sense Review

SUMMERTIME is a sugary, cheerful, and upbeat love song that will earn its place a top the pop charts for sure.
Summer conjures up lots of good time images such as frolicking in the sand with a summer romance -- and everybody loves a fun summertime anthem that can bring that image to life. The renewed (and all grown up and handsome) New Kids on the Block do exactly that with this new single from their anticipated first new album. It's been 15 years since we've heard the boys from Boston perform together and it sounds as though they haven't missed a beat, even if it's a very synthesized one.
Other boy bands: B2K, 'N Sync, and Backstreet Boys.
