Fresh off the soundtrack to the new Disney musical Camp Rock (airing June 2008), "WE ROCK" is a tour de force ensemble song featuring the fabulously popular Jonas Brothers and the movie's star, Demi Lovato. The Cinderella-meets-Fame movie, set of course at a rock camp, is a fun, sentimental movie that incorporates all the successful conventions of High School Musical. "We Rock" does the same musically.
The song doesn't break any new ground lyrically: It's all about having a dream and going for it -- an idea that Disney has almost managed to trademark. But what the song does create is a fun, feel-good moment that's not so easy to forget. And the Jonas Brothers and Lovato play their roles appealingly in both the vocals and the music video. With this much enthusiasm, it's hard not to feel even a little inspired to get out and rock on.
