Parents need to know that the first single release off the soundtrack for the movie Where the Wild Things Are is a simple, fun, and silly tune about love.
Director Spike Jonze recruited Karen O, friend and frontwoman of the alterna-band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to write the title track, ALL IS LOVE. To perform the song, Karen O gathered up her bandmates, a couple of other indie artists, and a bunch of kids themselves, billing the collective as Karen O and the Kids. The end result is a quirky yet fun song about -- what else?! -- love.
Lyrically, there's not a lot to this song besides the following line: "L-O-V-E, it's a mystery, where you'll find me, where you'll find all is love." However, all of the whistling, clapping, cheering, and singing add plenty of musical interest that will undoubtedly make kids want to hear the single again and again. Whether adults will appreciate repeated plays of the extremely high pitched voices -- the only real drawback to the track -- is another story.
