Parents need to know that American Idol: 10th Anniversary - The Hits Volume 1 represents some of the cleanest music released by various Idol alums. Aside from the Carrie Underwood track "Before He Cheats," which mentions drinking and some vindictive behavior by a jealous girlfriend, there's little other graphic language, violence, sexual content, or substance use in these songs. The tunes contain mostly positive messages about young love, self-confidence, and good attitudes, resulting in a great overall album suited for a broad audience, ranging from tweens to adults.

American Idol: 10th Anniversary - The Hits Volume 1 is a collection of twelve tunes released by Idol alums over the show's ten years. The artists featured on the album are a mix of actual Idol winners, like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Ruben Studdard, as well as contestants who didn't make it to the top but became famous anyway, including Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, and Clay Aiken. With the exception of Carrie Underwood's track "Before He Cheats," which references drinking and some vindictive behaviors, these singles are largely clean, with little in the way of adult content or graphic language. Parents should feel fine buying this album for their older kids.
Is it any good?
It would be hard to expect anything less than the best from an album composed of songs by Idol alums -- and this record doesn't disappoint. While none of these tracks could be called so-so, some, like Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone," Chris Daughtry's "Home," and Jordin Sparks' "No Air," shine just a bit brighter than the others.

what gives?
every one is basically saying that carrie underwood is the entire reason the music is rated what it is. LIES. her music is great, and i am glad my parents aren't control freaks like all you.
