What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this soundtrack is more like a solo album from A.N.T. Farm star China Anne McClain, since most of the songs are sung by her. It includes the show's theme song, "Exceptional," as well as the popular "Calling All the Monsters" and is OK for kids old enough to watch the show.

What's the story?

The popular Disney Channel show A.N.T. Farm features kids with exceptional talent, and now all of the show's songs can be found on the A.N.T. FARM SOUNDTRACK. The 10 tracks include the show's theme song, "Exceptional" and a cover of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," as well as China Anne McClain's hit, "Calling All the Monsters," and the Taio Cruz cover, "Dynamite."

Is it any good?

Although this is the A.N.T. Farm soundtrack, it might as well be a China Anne McClain album, since eight of the 10 synth-pop tracks feature the young Disney star. "Perfect Mistake" and "Electronic Apology" are sung by The McClain Sisters (China and her two older sisters), and fellow A.N.T. star Carlon Jeffery sings on the cool Will Smith cover "Summertime" and "Pose" with A.N.T. uber-cheerleader Stefanie Scott. It's pretty obvious that Disney's trying to push McClain as their latest "It" girl, but fans of the show will love this album anyway.

What families can talk about

  • Families can talk about the fact that McClain is barely a teenager and already part of a marketing machine like Disney that pushes acting and singing careers; do you think she's too young to be in such a bright spotlight? Why or why not?

  • McClain seems to be the latest Disney "It" girl; why do you think she resonates with fans? Do you like her singing, her character on A.N.T. Farm, or is it a combination of both that makes her so popular?

A.N.T. Farm Soundtrack
The A.N.T. Farm Soundtrack is a great album for all ages. They have a lot of songs from the show. Most of the songs are Calling all the monsters, Dynamite, My crush and Beautiful. All of the songs on the album will have the kids either singing or dancing. The album keeps you moving. I love Summertime and Calling all the monsters. The album is wonderful.
