What parents need to know

Parents need to know that these are not songs from the Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog, but are all new, original songs inspired by the movie and sung by the original characters. If you can't get enough of the spicy New Orleans flavor from the movie soundtrack, then this album's for you.

  • Carries on the message from the movie about working hard and making your own dreams come true.
  • Princess Tiana is a hard-working princess who makes her life what she wants it to be.
  • Yet another product from the latest Disney princess movie.

What's the story?

After the widespread success of Disney's latest classical animation feature, The Princess and the Frog, comes a 13-track album of new and original tunes inspired by the movie. All the songs on BAYOU BOOGIE: TOE TAPPIN' TUNES are sung by the original characters from the movie such as Tiana, Mama Odie, Ray, Louis, and Dr. Facilier. With the same flavor and fun of The Princess and the Frog Soundtrack, Bayou Boogie continues the same spicy blends of jazz, zydeco, gospel, and Cajun music that made the movie and its music so popular.

Is it any good?

If you liked the music from The Princess and the Frog, then of course you'll love the tunes on Bayou Boogie. They further showcase the amazing creative and vocal talents of the artists Anika Noni Rose, Jenifer Lewis, Jim Cummings, Michael Leon-Wooley, and Keith David, and make one wonder why they weren't included on the original soundtrack to begin with. From "Everyday Princess" to "Zippin' to the Zydeco," these songs cook up a real love for the magical music in the Big Easy, and make you want to see the movie again, or just head down south for a visit and a beignet.

What families can talk about

  • Families can talk about fairy tales. Tiana is a modern-day princess in the respect that she refuses to rely on Prince Charming to make her dreams come true. Do you think this is a good way to live your life? Why? Give some examples of lyrics from this album that show Tiana's go-getter attitude.

  • New Orleans is known for its jazz music. Is the music on this album different from most music that you listen to? How? What instruments do you hear? Do you like it? How do the songs on this album make you feel when you hear them?
