What to talk about

Talk to your kids
  • Families can talk about conservation. The song "There is No Away" paints an honest picture of how much waste we create. How does this song make you feel? Why? What kinds of things can you do to reduce waste?
  • What is your favorite song? Why? Is it the music or the lyrics, or both? What instruments do you hear? What do you think the song is about?

What's the story?

What's the story?
Uncle Rock has found a way to expose young minds to the reality of conservation and consumption without sounding like an annoying junior high Ecology teacher. THE BIG PICTURE features fourteen kid-friendly, earth-aware tunes that just might make your kids think twice about where that plastic bottle goes after it's tossed. These lighthearted, upbeat songs enlighten and entertain from beginning to end.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

Uncle Rock does a great job keeping his environmentally-conscious agenda under the radar with appealing music about spacemen BFFs ("Secret Spacemen"), everyday animals ("Leave the Bees Be"), and make-believe furr-iends ("My Friend Bigfoot"). The songs here are thought-provoking without being preachy, and give kids a fresh dose of reality when it comes to the stuff they use and where it goes. Uncle Rock's friendly, Elvis-y vocals are infectious, so his message breezes through effortlessly, giving kids a subtle taste of green.
