What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this song is a warning to a girl about a "playa" who's going to break her heart. So not surprisingly, there are some vague sexual innuendos in this first single from the upcoming Audio Day Dream, Lewis' first studio album post American Idol.

  • Warns a girl about not giving into a player.
  • Not applicable.
  • Slightly suggestive: "He's a gentleman lover/get you under cover."

What's the story?

Idol season six runner-up Blake Lewis has a bonafide hit on his hands. BREAK ANOTHA is a likable contemporary pop single that has already taken radio by storm, having originally been leaked to fans who signed up on a promo Web site. The radio-friendly single is different from standard Idol stuff, combining elements of funk and hip-hop.

Is it any good?

"Break Anotha" creates a fresh sound that capitalizes on Lewis' enigmatic voice. To read our review of the entire album, click here.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about the careers of the Idols. Why have some done better than others? Why do some of the runners-up seem to do better than the winners? Is there too much pressure to be a huge success once you've won?

So Annoying...
This is the loudest, most irritating song by a runner- up ever!

Good first from Blake.
Good, reminiscent of Maroon 5. If you like Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, and the like, you'll LOVE this song! At first when you listen to it, it seems a little "eh, ok" but it grows on you.
