What's the story?

What's the story?
CATERPILLAR BUTTERFLY is a 12-song flight through themes ranging from encouraging children to be themselves to understanding American history. Singer/Songwriter David Grover, backed by the charming Blafield Children's Choir and the Big Bear Band, sings in a soothing baritone. In "Caterpillar Butterfly," Grover sings, "Like a baby bird who wants to sing, Or a caterpillar who wants his wings, I will grow and be what I should be, I will fly and sing a song of me." "Shaking Hands" is a clarinet-infused ragtime song with a child singing the lead vocal. "The Pledge Song" touches on the wrongs inflicted upon Native Americans and African Americans: "They gave us their hand and we took their land...They wore the chains of slavery, They were people like you and me."

Is it any good?

Songs provide a variety of music styles, from ragtime to soft guitar to jazzy, and most are well written, though a few fall into predictable lyrics. The production is a listening pleasure. Families will enjoy Caterpillar Butterfly for its innocent sweetness, even if it lacks originality.

Music about kids beginning to spread their wings and fly
Excellent songs and musicality with gentle lessons for kids beginning to learn about moving through the wider world of preschool or Kindergarten. Kids love hearing the children's chorus and kids' solos.
