What’s the Story?

Reviewed byJacqueline Rupp
Reps for Chris Brown deny that CHANGED MAN is the first single off of his upcoming third album Graffiti and there are claims that this song was actually written before all of the turmoil between the hip-hop star and then-girlfriend Rihanna. Still, the track bears great resemblance to his situation as it has Brown talking about moving on and how he has grown. "I don’t wanna be done,
I’m doing all that I can, and everybody hates Chris, they can never understand, so can we love, so can we love?"

Is It Any Good?

It's hard to separate fiction from reality, as any line from this leaked single just seems to automatically be compared to Brown's real life problems. It's also tough not to wonder what Rihanna thinks about the song. Seems Dr. Phil would have a field day with some of the lines, with Brown repeatedly stating "this ain't over" in regard to his troubled relationship and complaining that "Daily, I’ve been waiting,  for the time to pass, and let it fade in, but baby, my patience Is driving me crazy." The heartfelt redemption plea doesn't seem so sincere at these times. But this is only a song and is indeed a pleasing track that has a solid hook and well done harmonies. For fans ready to forgive, it might the perfect apology, but for others Brown's problems may spoil the appeal of his sound.
