A CHILD'S CELEBRATION OF DANCE MUSIC is an in-betweener, with some guaranteed dance-crowd pleasers mixed with other, more curious inclusions. Of course, it's easy to understand why the album contains such dance-inspiring hits as "The Twist" and "Limbo Rock." And how most people would like to spin around the floor to the strains of "Shake a Tailfeather" and "Fun, Fun, Fun."

Some song selections on the CD make you wonder: Just how easy is it to dance to "Battle of New Orleans" and "I Ain't Got No Home"? For those who want to dance to great rock 'n' roll hits, you might do better to select A Child's Celebration of Rock 'n' Roll, which, like this album, features hit songs performed by the original artists, but includes a higher-quality cross-section.
