Pop princess goes a little bit country.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this is the first single from Jessica Simpson's new country album, scheduled for release in September. The song reflects the anxious anticipation of wanting a guy you're into to come over, but is safe for kids with references only to kissing and being wrapped up in each other's arms.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about why Jessica Simpson decided to record a country album. Is it to get a bigger fan base, to be more creative, as a media stunt, or all of the above? What does she do better, country or pop? How does she compare to other country artists close to her age like Carrie Underwood? What about more established country singers such as Shania Twain and Reba McEntire.

What's the story?

What's the story?
Jessica Simpson makes a departure from her usual bubblegum pop ballads with a little country crooning. "COME ON OVER," her new album's first single, is a peppy, flirtatious track about wanting your man to drop what he's doing and come over for a makeout session.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

The slide guitar twang is there in full force, and the song is catchy, but it's also a little breathy with not a lot of soul. It almost seems as if she's racing through it. Maybe Jess is still trying to find her country voice, but it'll be interesting to see if rest of the album is stronger than the single.

''Country'' não é a sua Jessica!
A música é até legal, mas com certeza ''Country'' não é para Jessica, ela fica muito melhor no ''Pop''
