While I don't like it myself, I think Devo is on the right track. Their idea is to present their music in a way that will attract preteens to their music. When said group gets older they'll want to hear the real thing. Thus they prevent themselves from becoming some largely forgotten 80's band with a dwindling fan base. It's ashame that this is being hamstrung by the more shortsighted fans.
Disney is not about to lose all its fans and customers, so why the hell are they...plegurizing Devo! I mean really! Devo was an awesome band, that made awesome music! and, get this, they acualy PLAYED the instruments. I know this is targeted towards young teens kids, who probobly dont know devo, but really.
THEY'RE WORSE THAN THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND!!!
If you do, you are only giving them a ruined, dumbed-down version of some great songs that should remain the way they were. But them a real Devo album instead; they knew how to make music, and these kids (provided they actually play the instruments) do not. Plus, some of these songs are censored... "Uncontrollable Urge" has had the lyrics change to make it about FOOD, because apparently the original is about sex. Who the hell cares? I mean, the references in the original are so D**n vague, it could be about anything. The bottom line: this is sellout trash.
