Perfect for kids who like punk rock.
This is a great album for kids who like punk rock/pop-punk. Sure, it has some explicit content, but I'm sure your kid has heard 1477284 times worse at school. Definitely buy this for the rockstar in the family.

Some cussing, violent imagery, and traditional punk additude, but a great album!
This is my second favorite Green Day album (second to Insomniac). Songs contain a lot of s**ts and some f**ks, as well as violent imagery and punk additude! But it's not too bad, and it's definitely worth the minimal trouble. Off for 8 and under, iffy for 9-10, on for 11+

Green Day 3
Green Day's third studio album is actually one of their cleanest. There is some violence in "Having a Blast", and sex includes "she said it's lack of sex that's bringin' me down" and "I went to a whore" in the song "Basket Case", masturbation references in "All By Myself" and "Longview". Language is an issue. Green Day loves to curse, but this album doesn't showcase it. There is one use of s--t in "Burnout" (these s--t town lights), two uses of s--t in "Having a Blast" (all the s--t you put me through/any bulls--t that confronts you), three uses of s--t and two uses of f--k in "Longview" (same old s--t/f--king lazy/smell like s--t twice/f--king lonely), and four uses of f--k in "F.O.D".

You started it.
If you're old enough to consciously look for this in on a rack, and purchase it with money you have acquired, then you are old enough to listen to it. It's music people! it does not warp your mind. It's catchy and Cheery, INDEED!
