What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this album is part of a new series from "Rock the Cradle" Lullabies that features melodic, sleep-inducing instrumental arrangements of some classic rock tunes by the original band members. There aren't words, so of course it's fine for any age, but parents will enjoy revisiting some old favorites while trying to get the tykes to bed.

What's the story?

DREAMIN' WITH DEF LEPPARD is the first installment in a series of lullabies from "Rock the Cradle," where music from legendary rock bands is re-produced as lullabies. The album features 12 new lullaby arrangements from Def Leppard, which original bandmembers Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen play on.

Is it any good?

At first thought, an '80s hair band plus lullaby music sounds a little cheesy. OK, a lot cheesy.  But, the arrangements on Dreamin' with Def Leppard feature full band production, real instruments, and real band members -- not sappy Muzak fit for the grocery aisle. Kids won't necessarily mind one way or another that these songs are a playlist from their parents' past, but Mom and Dad will love reminiscing to some old favorites. The soft, soothing melodies carry through each song, and you're reminded why Def Leppard was, and is still, so successful.
