common sense media says

Queen Pea's sassy solo debut; get the edited one.

parents & educators say

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this album includes a liberal sprinkling of four-letter words ("f--k" and "s--t," mainly) and a lot of teasy sexuality in the lyrics. An edited version is available and is better-produced than most.

Positive messages: Some girl-power, some simpering sexual teasing, some sexist language -- all over the road.
Violence: Not applicable.
Sex: A lot of sexy innuendo, stopping just short of explicit.
Language: A "yippee" approach to four-letter words, especially "s--t." Edited version is better than most.
Consumerism: A couple of brand names are mentioned. "Labels or Love" is all about retail therapy and buying brand names.
Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Not applicable.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about whether they like Fergie better on her own or with the Black-Eyed Peas. What are the pros and cons of striking out on your own after having great success as part of a group? Could Fergie be just as sexy and fun without using provocative words?

What's the story?

What's the story?
With generous help from some very accomplished pals, Fergie steps out on her own on THE DUTCHESS. Best known as a member of the Black-Eyed Peas, Fergie explores a variety of musical styles with a sense of good-natured fun and enough attitude to compensate for a smidge of vocal weakness. A lot of her songs combine teasing sexuality with dance-club girl power. "They want my treasures so they get their pleasures from my photo/you can see me (you can squeeze me)/I ain't easy (I ain't sleazy)/I got reasons why I tease 'em," she taunts on "Fergalicious." "All That I Got" tackles deeper topics ("I know you're seeing past my makeup/Into the little girl that used to hide out and cry/When her parents fought/Would you love me if I didn't work out or change my natural hair?") and might hit home with some young fans.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

Musically, the album takes some ambitious risks that work better than they really should. There's a gorgeously produced reggae romp on "Mary Jane Shoes" with Rita Marley; there's some '80s hip-hop flavor on "Fergalicious"; as well as soul, jazz, and R&B influences old and new. Tempo and rhythm changes abound; the music and performances are anything but dull. Fergie isn't a great singer, but she pulls it all off with good humor and a sexy wink, proving that sparkle and attitude can go a long way.

Ehh, it depends.
This cd has its share of sexual content and explicit material. The main songs to worry about are London Bridge, Fergalicious, and i think thats probably it. Glamorous is explicit, but its pretty good. But it says the words a**, d***, raw as he**, and in the bridge of the song she says f*** yall, in the backround.

Get the clean version for 13+ Compatability.
Even when it's clean, it isn't ready for children or the most mature of tweens. Sex and bad language make up this album. Fergie shows that she is a sex symbol, no doubt. Not the best role model for some teens.

Great album and great songs. She is very talented. She is a strong woman and i think an overall good role model unlike Hedi Montage. Fergie Rocks. Holla :)

Not the best cd
There are only a few songs worth listening to (Glamourous, Big Girls Don't Cry, Clumsy, and Voodoo Doll) but that basically it. The rest of the songs are just naughty. Fergalicious- She's as "t-t-t-t-tasty tasty" as candy. London Bridge- A "Get drunk and have some sex" song that repeats "Oh, Sh*t!" and the F-word.

Fergie Ferg gonna love you long time!
Sexual Content: Lots of fun, sexy innuedos. Try on "How come everytime you come around my london london bridge wanna go down like!" for size. "Fergalicious" openly discusses Fergie's hot bod and how she has the boys lining up down the block to "watch what she's got". "Clumsy" talks about being head-over-heels for a guy, while "Velvet" is a song straight out of a dirty movie. Violence: N/A Language: S**t and f**k are littered throughout the album, including one "motherf*cking". Other profane language includes b*tches and a**. The edited version, however, is very well produced and doesn't leave one swear word unedited. Social Behaviour: Fergie comes across as conceited in one song and weak and vulnerable in another. Fergie is all over the map as far as personality and morals go. Commercialism: Grey Goose (the vodka), Mary Jane Shoes, Taco Bell, and a mention of the music awards show "The Grammy's". Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco: Grey Goose is mentioned in one song which also refers to being drunk. "Voodoo Doll" refers to a needle in your arm, as a metaphor. "Mary Jane Shoes" leads you to draw your own conclusions from the songs lyrics. "Shoes or marjunna?" Overall I give this album a pause for 13+ and an on for 14+. Great album!

absolute waste of time

"Big Girls Don't Cry" but I wept over this sad mixture of innuendos and cuss words.
My advice:buy Big Girls Don't Cry and skip the rest.
