What’s the Story?

A cross-cultural, cross-genre tour around Europe, EUROPEAN PLAYGROUND is a collection of fifteen songs, expertly performed by a variety of exceptional artists. The multi-lingual songs are easy to sing and dance along to, the lyrics geared to children's interests and imagination. The CD includes liner notes in four languages -- English, Spanish, French, and German --and there's also a downloadable teaching guide and music video.

The genius of Putumayo Kids is partly song selection -- all of the music is energetic, accessible, and family-friendly, but not clichéd. Especially delightful is the French "En Voici, En Voila" by Alain Le Lait, featuring accomplished gypsy-jazz-style guitar, expressive and gravelly vocals, and the internationally-beloved (and understood) word "chocolate."
