"Every Girl" (CD single)
What’s the Story?
EVERY GIRL is the first single from Young Money, a group of five rappers led by its most famous member, Lil' Wayne. The song's title speaks volumes about its theme: these guys want to sleep with every girl -- in every way imaginable. The entire song is an ode to sex, describing in minute detail various sexual situations that also involve drinking and drugs: "I wish I could f--k every girl in the world / …I just can't pick one so you can never say I'm choosy / …And weed and alcohol seem to satisfy us all / …And every time I think of staying with her / She bring that friend around that make a n---a reconsider."
Is It Any Good?
Musically, this song sounds amateur at best. The artists use an Autotune throughout, which distorts some of the lyrics so badly that the words are barely comprehensible (maybe a good thing?). The rhymes are set against a backdrop of boring, unimaginative beats that sound as if they were thrown together in a matter of a few minutes. And with five different rappers each needing their time in the spotlight, the song drones on for more than five minutes -- when it was hardly worth one.
